Still Updating... this is going slow but still going
Ive noticed that I now have more xbox games than mastersystem. I sat for a while and pondered if this is how Id like it to be... Well my childhood days were really the mastersystem, and I like to think of the xbox as my young adult stage of gaming, on second thoughts however if you split my game collection in three parts, 16bit and under ie megadrive/genesis and snes, all the way down to C16 and atari 2600. Then the cd era, being playstation 1, saturn, n64; then lastly the new gen being xbox, gamecube, dreamcast, and ps2, the new gen would win in numbers hands down, discounting the pleathora of commodore 64 titles without boxes. What does all this mean exactly? I remember enjoying games in the past more.. its not that theyre greater games at all, just I was happy to replay the same levels over and over whereas nowdays I can get sick of playing one game style for too long. Columns being my ownly exception I just cant play one game type over and over. To add further thoughts Id like to think this is the golden age of gaming, we are still not too far from the days of the past where games were held on cassettes, and soon we will be playing games with photo realism.. how many different ways could the industry have gone? what if the virtual boy picked up? would this greatly effect the modern look and feel of controllers?
Of course the benefit of heinsight gives us the opportunity to study the past as such but I guess its not too important anyway. Im off to play bards tale, then some joust ^_^
